Tap Add points on Home. Choose a person, enter up to 10 points and a reason, then confirm. Use a minus to remove points. Open Menu → Book of Records for the history and photos.

Open Review pending points on Home, then choose Retry pending award. This checks or finishes the same entry. If no pending award is shown, check the Book of Records before entering the points again.

On your iPhone, sign in and open Menu → Settings → Siri. Create a connection, copy its key, then choose Download shortcut in the install guide. Choose Open in Shortcuts, paste your key, and tap Add Shortcut.

If the file preview stays open after installation, open the App Switcher, swipe the Magic House Points card up to close it, then reopen the app. The shortcut stays installed.

Say “Siri, award house points.” Choose a person, give the points and a reason, then confirm. Negative points remove points. Confirming saves the points to your school.

Check the Book of Records before trying again. Each run starts a new award, so repeating one that already saved would add points again. If the key is expired or disconnected, open Menu → Settings → Siri and create a new connection, then install the shortcut with its new key.

Each grown-up needs their own key. To stop one from working, choose Disconnect beside it under Your connections.

Saved entries aren’t edited individually, so everyone can follow corrections in the Book of Records. Account deletion removes your recorded entries, including reasons and photos. You can also request deletion of personal data by email.

Record a new entry that undoes it, with a clear reason. For example, if 10 points went to the wrong house, take 10 from that house (“Correction: these points belonged to Leo”) and award 10 to the right one. Both entries stay in the book, so everyone can see what happened.

Use 1–300 words, such as “Singing” or “Helped carry in the groceries”.

Yes. Each entry can have one optional photo. It’s shrunk before saving and, like the rest of the entry, can’t be changed afterwards. Anyone who can see your scoreboard, including people with a view-only link, can open it.

Open Menu → Settings → Challenges and tap End this challenge. You’ll see the final standings, then choose to start a new challenge right away or later. The winning house is crowned, and the final standings appear under Past challenges, which everyone, including kids with a view-only link, can see.

Every house starts the new challenge at 0. Nothing is deleted: every entry stays in the Book of Records, and each finished challenge keeps its final standings under Past challenges.

Yes. Name a new challenge anything you like, such as “Summer Reading Challenge” or “Chore Champions”. One challenge runs at a time, and points can only be awarded while one is running.

Open Menu → Settings → Houses and tap + Add a child (the Sorting). Your child answers a few questions: favorite animal, what they’re best at, where their castle would be, and a house color. The hat thinks it over and suggests a house name. They can type their own name or ask for another.

Yes. Tap Edit next to the house. Past points stay exactly as they are; only the name, color and crest change.

Open Menu → Sharing & access. Under Invite a grown-up, tap Create invite link, then Copy link and send it to them. Each invite works once and expires after 7 days. When they open it they create an account (or sign in) and join your school.

Open Menu → Sharing & access and create a View-only link (label it something like “Kids’ tablet”). Open it on their device. They can see the scoreboard, current challenge records and photos, but can’t change anything. Anyone with the link can see it, so only share it with people you trust. Tap Revoke to switch a link off at any time.

iPhone or iPad: open the site in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
Android: open it in Chrome, tap the menu (three dots), then Install app or Add to Home screen.

Yes. Open the kid’s view-only link on their device in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. The app opens straight to your school’s scoreboard every time, with no sign-in. If you ever revoke that link, make a new one and add it again. A grown-up can tap Grown-up? Sign in at the top to sign in instead.

Yes. It follows your device setting automatically. Open Menu → Settings → Appearance to switch modes; your choice is remembered on that device.

Codes come from no-reply@magicalhousepointsystem.com and usually arrive within a minute. Check your spam or promotions folder. You can only request a new code once every 60 seconds, so wait a minute before trying again.

Codes expire after a short time and only the newest one works. Request a fresh code and use it right away. The email also has a sign-in link you can tap if you’re on the same device.

No. You sign in with your email and a code each time you’re signed out. On your own phone or computer you’ll stay signed in until you tap Sign out.

Open Menu → Settings, then Your name or School name. Earlier entries keep the name they were recorded with.

The founder can remove grown-ups from Menu → Sharing & access. To leave a school, open Menu → Settings → Your account. You can’t leave if you’re the only grown-up. Points you recorded stay in the Book of Records.

Open Menu → Settings → Your account, type DELETE and tap Delete my account. This deletes your account and the entries you recorded in every school, including their reasons and photos. Their points are removed from current totals. If you’re the only grown-up in your school, it also deletes the whole school. If you haven’t joined a school, open Your account on the school setup screen. You can also email hello@magicalhousepointsystem.com from the address you sign in with and we’ll do it within 30 days.
